Scales of War Wiki

A resource for a Local Gaming group for Local People

Welcome all, please have fun reading this site, it hopes to document the trials, tribulations and tittering of a group of guys who meet every Friday night and play with small figurines, roll dice and try not to make to many Monty Python references.

You are welcome to copy and use information for your own personal us, however please give us a link back. Do not make commercial use of any of the information here, or we might have to track you down and throw you to the ground, it's our idiom.

Rappan Athuk 4th Edition Forgotten Realms Conversion (Plus some of the best bits for 1st / 2nd / 3rd and 3.5)

Rappan Athuk Pathfinder Edition

We've ditched our idea of using 4th. To get the feel of Rappan Athuk we were having to homebrew 4th edition so much and it still did not look like we'd get the feel for it, so we decided to look at Pathfinder (effectively 3.75th Ed). This seems to solve a lot of the problems of 3.5th and solve our 4th issues in one sweep.

After long hours of blood / sweat and tears the masterplan forgotten realms conversion of Rappan Athuk is nearing completion, about 80% complete. But 3.75 is practically done out the book, with the extra background we've stuffed in to make it our own campaign

Set about 15 years after the spellplague, but with some liberties taken on the timeline to include previous edition materials and old favourite characters and NPCs.

It is late autumn in Fearun and the trade way between Daggerford and Boareskyr bridge has been blocked by rampaging bandits and humanoids. Some of the wealthier caravans have diverted and taken the sea route between Baldurs Gate and Waterdeep and the news has just been received in Daggerford that several were sunk by a Huge Red Dragon*. Those caravans unwilling or unable to afford the coastal route have braved the trade way and also paid the price with their lives. The remaining caravans are staged at Daggerford and Boareskyr Bridge demanding military assistance from the Duke of Daggerford. The Duke has consulted his councillors and is offering a hefty reward for adventurers willing to root out the source of these attacks to enable the caravans to pass through before the harsh northern winter arrives.
Before the Duke can find these brave souls, the enemy attacks Daggerford itself.....
